2026 Level Exams

Each spring, dancers at Sierra Madre Dance Center participate in our Annual Level Exams, taking place May 18th–22nd. These assessments are thoughtfully designed to evaluate each dancer’s current skill level in ballet, jazz, and tap.

Exams are organized by age and allow our faculty to observe technique, strength, coordination, musicality, and overall readiness for the next stage of training. This process helps us make the most accurate level placements and program recommendations for the upcoming dance year.

Our goal is to ensure every dancer is placed where they will feel confident, challenged, and supported — setting them up for continued growth and success at SMDC.
