Ballet with Miss Amie

Our little studio began in the basement of a church in 2010 as a small preschool ballet program called Ballet with Miss Amie. Ms Amie offered classes in studios across Pasadena and in local preschools until she found her first studio home on Montecito Ave in Sierra Madre in 2015. Our studio has come from humble beginnings and it has always been the hope that this program will establish a love for dance from the beginning and a place for students to grow and develop their passion.

"Don’t let people discourage you. Just fluff out your tutu and dance away."

Just keep dancing

In September of 2019 Ballet with Miss Amie rebranded and built a new studio to officially become Sierra Madre Dance Center. Six months after our opening we were forced to close during covid. The struggle and perseverance of those years taught us the importance of our dance community. This time forced us to dig deeper into our commitment to our students and families and taught us all how to never give up.

A new era at Sierra Madre Dance Center

Now as we enter our 6th season as SMDC, we are excited to offer a wide range of opportunities for our growing dancers. From our professional level Nutcracker production, to successful competition teams and pre-professional level training in a variety of genres. SMDC strives to help our young dancers identify their dance goals and work towards accomplishing them.

"When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way." - Wayne Dyer
