Tuition 

SMDC tuition is based on a 4 week month and the commitment is for the entire season, August to May. We do not prorate tuition except for the months of August and December.

Tuition Policies

  • Tuition is billed monthly with the exception of the first payment (August).

  • Tuition is based on a 4 week month. We do not offer makeup classes for holiday closures and charge the same monthly tuition whether the month has 3 weeks or 5 weeks worth of classes.

  • The first payment of the session is due one week before the start of classes. Subsequent payments will be billed on the 1st of the month.

  • If payment is not received one week before the session begins, your spot will be forfeit and given to a waitlist student.

  • To enroll in a class, a credit card must be held on file, even for charter students. 

  • If payments are not complete by the 7th of the month, then a $25 late fee will be charged to the account. 

  • Sierra Madre Dance Center will accept Visa or MasterCard for tuition payments, or bank draft. 

Tuition

Auto Pay

Payments will automatically be withdrawn from your card on file the first of each month, with the exception of the beginning of each session when they will be withdrawn one week before the start of classes.

(No risk of late fees)

Self-Pay

Families must manually submit payment, one (1) week before the start of the month, by credit card or bank draft through the Parent Portal, or pay with cash or check in person.  If self-pay fees aren’t paid before the first of the month the card on file will be charged on the first of the month.

Charter

Charter - This option is only for students who receive tuition funds through their charter school. SMDC currently works with iLead, Excel, and Blue Ridge. A purchase order must be submitted in the enrolled student's name for the dates of service. Upon enrollment please email the studio letting us know which charter school your dancer is with.

Self-pay accounts, returned checks, or declined cards will be subject to a $25 late fee

if tuition payment is not received before the start of classes or the first of the month.

Annual Registration Fee

An annual, non-refundable, fee of $25 per student is posted to accounts upon enrollment and annually in August at the start of the fall session.​

Cancellation

​

  • Early/Class Cancellation - If a student withdraws early from the session for a non-medical emergency the credit card on file will be charged an additional $55 early cancellation fee per class and no refunds will be made once tuition charges go through.

  • If you are unable to attend the class you initially registered for you must cancel your dancer’s enrollment, via email, two (2) weeks prior to the start of classes.  Any cancellations after that will incur a fee equal to the amount of the first week of classes. ​

  • All transactions are final so please do not ask to be the exception.

​

  • There will be no refunds for missed classes. Students may make up missed classes within one month of absence. Please check in with the front desk before attending a make-up class.

​

  • There will be no prorations for studio closures during the season. This means some months your dancer may have 5 classes, some may have 3, but payments will remain equal based on the 35 week season.
