Ballet Divsion

Ballet instruction is the foundation at SMDC. Once our students progress through the developmental ballet courses, they are then placed into the Ballet Division. SMDC's Ballet Division builds upon dancer's technique and focuses on further development of strength and artistry,

SMDC's Ballet Division is divided into 5 levels based on ability.​ Students interested in joining the Ballet Division must take an assessment class prior to level placement. There is no online enrollment for Ballet Division classes.

Ballet students are required to attend a minimum of 2 ballet classes a week.

4:45 - 5:45 pm 8-10 years old

6:00-7:00 pm 11 years old & up

Dress Code: Upper level ballet classes are required to wear any black ballet leotard, pink ballet tight, pink ballet shoes.  Jazz and Tap students may pull athletic shorts over their leotard but must have appropriate jazz or tap shoes to change into after ballet. Hip Hop students may wear athletic clothing such as sweats, leggings, and T-shirts, as well as tennis shoes. Leotards, ballet/jazz/tap shoes are available at the studio for purchase.
